Useful facts about using Pittsburgh's outdoor WiFi Network
We have compiled a list of facts to answer users questions about the network.
This is a network built for outdoor use. Indoor use may not work. It is recommended if using the network indoors to try and use it from the 4th floor down near a window overlooking a street with an accesspoint on it.
If you have a 2 hour free account and upgrade to a paid account, a card and pin number are e-mailed to your registered address. These become your username and password.
When creating a 2 hour free account we ask for a credit card to verify you are who you say you are. A $1.00 transaction happense to verify the account and is immediately cancelled after verification. It will show up in some online statments if you consistently check them and then dissappear.
When useing the 2 hour free account, your 2 free hours starts from the time you first log in. You can log in as many times as you would like during this 2 hour period. (Example: if you log in at 8am your 2 free hours runs out 10 am)
When your 2 free hours runs out, you are not billed. You do however, have the option to select a paid plan to continue useing the interent.
